The Kindness Campaign's Mission

Throughout the past several months, several events have occured, such as student suicides, hazing incidents at  my high school, and the surfacing of Johan Mowry's YouTube video, which signify why it is important to be kind to other people.

I began to develop The Kindness Campaign in 2007 with the objective of encouraging young people to volunteer. Through my community involvement I have had so many gratifying experiences and have come to understand how a single person has the power to influence someone else’s life. I believe that service gives me the power to make a difference and have a positive impact on others, and it is important to me to let other people know that they have the power to make a difference as well.

However, kindness does not end there. Because of the experiences I have had both in the community and in my personal life, I have created a new mission for The Kindness Campaign. The Kindness Campaign's mission is to promote kindness toward oneself, encourage kindness toward others, in turn, and foster a greater sense of community among today's youth.

I hope you will all join me in my effort to encourage young people to be kind to themselves, be kind to others, and get involved in their communities.
